With a studio layout, this cottage features a full kitchen, a comfortable queen bed, an outdoor fire pit, a brand new hot tub, and is just 1 mile from hiking trails making it a perfect base for outdoor enthusiasts. Located just minutes from Black Mountain, Lake Lure, and Chimney Rock Village, this warm and intimate cottage is the ideal getaway for those seeking peace and serenity in the heart of the wilderness. INSIDE The cottage has a full kitchen (Sink, stove, microwave, fridge, Keurig) and a few pots and pans for cooking a small meal. We provide a few K cups to start your morning coffee while you stay with us. There is a small dining table to enjoy in the living space as well. BEDROOM We have a very comfortable queen size bed, with a sound machine to get a great nights rest. OUTSIDE Enjoy the sunrise with coffee from the outdoor seating in the mornings. Guests at the cottage can enjoy the firepit and outdoor seating, along with a new hot tub on the grounds. We ask if you plan on having a fire, you bring your own wood. GETTING AROUND We are only: -15 Minutes from Chimney Rock Village (Shopping, restaurants, hiking at Chimney Rock State Park) -20 Minutes from Lake Lure (Shopping, swimming, hiking, and lots of bars/restaurants of all types) -30 Minutes from Downtown Black Mountain -45 Minutes from Asheville and the historic Biltmore Estate Guest will have access to the cottage, front porch, fire pit, and outdoor grounds. There is another cottage on the same hillside that we rent as well, if you are interested in securing both, please ask! INTERACTION WITH GUESTS We understand the importance of a quiet and relaxing getaway, and that's exactly what we offer our guests. Our serene location is the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. However, we're also committed to ensuring our guests have everything they need for a truly enjoyable vacation. If there's anything you require during your stay, our friendly and attentive team is always on hand to assist you. Nestled amidst the serenity of Shumont Mountain, this charming cottage offers a tranquil mountain oasis, where you can bask in the feeling of having your own private mountain retreat. While there is another vacation rental located downhill, rest assured that this cottage provides exceptional seclusion and privacy. There is 1 parking spot in-front of the cottage for 1 vehicle for guests, it is marked "Guest Cottage Parking". Do not expect good cell phone reception from the property, but there is Wifi for guest's devices. PARKING Please pull off the road to the LEFT, immediately across from the A-frame (sufficient space for 1 vehicle). Then walk up the stairs to the cottage. PLEASE DO NOT BLOCK ROAD. Thank you! WIFI The cottage is on a remote hillside, please do not expect good cell phone reception. However, we offer our guests free Wi-Fi for their devices (please do not count on video calling/streaming as the service can be spotty). PET POLICY One housebroken pet is permitted ($125 non-refundable fee collected through Airbnb during booking). Please inform us if you intend to bring a pet, if a pet is noted without permission as being on the property, the guest will forfeit their security deposit. The pet is not allowed to use the bathroom inside the house. OTHER NOTES We have a 3:00pm checkin/10:00am checkout, but if travel plans do not allow for that, we can try to accommodate, just let us know! The cottage does not have central heat, but there is a strong fireplace heater that heats the space VERY well, along with 2 additional space heaters for guests. Please allow a few minutes for the cottage to warm up after arrival. The trashcans are located at the main road, marked with #42 on the top.
